URL Shortening for Bulk SMS

⚠️ Google URL Shortener (goo.gl) — Service Discontinued
Google URL Shortener (goo.gl) was permanently shut down by Google in March 2019. Existing short links stopped working in 2025. This service is no longer available for creating new short links or tracking analytics.
Recommendation: Use a current URL shortener such as Bitly, TinyURL, or the iSMS built-in URL shortening feature available in your member portal.
Why Shorten URLs in SMS?
Including a URL in your bulk SMS message consumes valuable characters. Shortening your URL allows you to include a clickable link while keeping your message within a single SMS segment (153 characters for ASCII). Short links also look cleaner and are easier for recipients to tap on mobile.

How URL Shortening Works in SMS (General Guide)
- Copy your long website URL (e.g.
https://www.isms.com.my/buy_reload.php)
- Paste it into your chosen URL shortener and generate a short link
- Copy the short link (e.g.
https://bit.ly/xxxxx)
- Paste the short link into your SMS message in the iSMS compose window
- Send — recipients tap the link and are taken to your destination page
💡 Tip: Bitly and similar services track how many times your link was clicked, which browser and country the clicks came from — useful for measuring your SMS campaign effectiveness.
